Beautiful vintage Persian Hamadan hand-knotted wool rug, measuring approximately 201 × 122 cm.

The rug features a striking dark navy central field filled with repeating boteh (paisley) motifs, surrounded by a muted khaki, stone and grey-beige ground with traditional geometric and floral borders. Soft dusty pink, blue, brown and dark accents give the rug an attractive aged palette.

Hand knotted in wool with the character and irregularities expected of an older Persian rug.

This is a genuinely vintage rug showing considerable age-related wear and low/thin pile in areas, including visible areas of wear across the central field and borders. There is colour variation throughout, consistent with its age and use. Please examine all photographs carefully, particularly the close-up images, as they form an important part of the condition description.

Please note on colour: The lighter ground is best described as muted khaki/stone-grey rather than ivory or cream. Colours can also appear somewhat different depending on lighting and screen settings.
