Vintage hand knotted tribal rug / runner style piece in deep burgundy, charcoal and soft pink tones with bold geometric motifs. Great character and a lovely aged look. Approx. 162 x 99 cm. Used vintage condition with visible wear, fading and fringe/edge wear as shown, which adds to its rustic charm.

Key Motifs & Symbols. Human Anthropomorphic Figure: The central cream-colored figure resembles a stylized human form or a protective amulet. In tribal weaving, human figures are often included to represent family members, ancestors, or the weaver themselves. Animal Figures (Quadrupeds): You can see at least three distinct four-legged animals surrounding the central figure (colored in pink, green, and orange). These usually represent camels, horses, or sheep/goats, which were vital to the livelihood, wealth, and survival of the nomadic tribe. "S" Motifs: The small geometric shape woven into the center torso of the human figure is a stylized version of the ancient "S" symbol (often representing a dragon or a snake). In tribal lore, this is a protective talisman used to guard the owner against misfortune and ward off evil spirits.
