Beautiful hand-knotted wool rug with a highly detailed traditional Persian floral design featuring birds, flowers and scrolling foliage.

Original old label to the reverse appears to identify the rug as Persian and hand-knotted. The reverse construction is consistent with a hand-knotted wool rug.

The rug has a deep navy blue ground with warm terracotta/rust borders, olive green, soft blue, cream and muted gold detailing. The animal and bird motifs make this a particularly decorative and unusual piece.

Very good vintage/pre-owned condition overall. The pile looks full and even, with only normal signs of age/use. Fringes show some natural wear and variation. Please study all photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
